Because I use a different steering linearity, I usually lower the ratio a lot with Volker's sets. 12 on short track and 20 something on speed- and superspeedways.
Just a matter of personal feel me thinks.

Hi Volker, I had a quick question about the car getting loose coming out of the corners, I know you addressed this briefly at the beginning of this tread but I didn't see a definitive solution.
Anyhow what I did to keep the back end where it belongs on exit was too increase RR rebound by 2. Now it seems to push up in mid corner not real bad but bad enough to get me off my line. I have tried only going 1, going +1 RR and -1 LF with pretty much the same result? Do you know of another adjustment I could make maybe air pressure or front/rear weight distribution? I can run real fast with it now like (23 mid 22 range) but when I try to pass is the problem unless the person I'm over taking lets me have the position I wind up facing the wrong way on the straight. The only sure way I have avoided this was to pass on the high side fine for lappers but it cooks my tires passing for position.
Any help you could offer is greatly appreciated,
DAV
P.S. Your setups are hands down the best thank you soooo much for sharing them with all of us..

Dav, as far as shock adjustments go, I'm thinking +RR rebound was not what you needed. That would tighten it going in, not off. Maybe better -rebound RF or +rebound LF or -compression RR or + compression LR or a combination of these. Good luck

Thanks for the sets Volker, but I am really having a problem at this track. Running 156's to 157 for about first 3 laps then car is tight, tight coming off 4. I may be running the wrong line, but have looked at your 5 lap replay and it doesn't appear that I am wrong. Was wondering if you have found any better for this track that gives me the most problems. No matter what I do it just seems tight in the center and off. No aides. TSW2 wheel. Thanks

I'm going to update the setup, just the usual changes, but it will stay tight at the beginning because otherwise it would be way too loose on old tires. So the problem seems to be your line, or rather getting back on the throttle too early I think.

but seriously in race you are not gonna want to go that fast, you'll be toast on a mid to long run

UPDATE
High front rebound, huge front sway bar and some other changes.
The race setup is pretty tight on fresh tires in order to stay driveable on long runs (60+ laps), for the usual 10% pick up races you can move some weight back.

Thanks Volker, the Dover update drives easy and fast. Appreciate the note about moving weight back for 10% races, moved 10 pounds back and it rocks. Now to test and see if I can make the tires last for that 10%. I am surprised by that big front bar though.

Well, the sway bar in race trim was born out of necessity...
The car bottomed out too much for running *somewhat* fast lap times (22.6/7s) which means that I would be whooped in every race that has a caution with about 30 laps or less to go.
I could have stiffened the front springs in order to solve this problem, but just give it a try, it will make the car hell twitchy on worn tires. The other choice I had was stiffening the front sway bar, and surprisingly it doesn't seem to hurt the front tires, probably because the car gets more and more loose anyway when the tires wear.
I just did a 40-lapper btw, moved 10 pounds back too and it worked pretty nice.

How much of a fall off in laps times should I see? My league runs 2x the wear and I'm dropping a second to a second and a half. Is this normal? I really don't feel like I'm overdriving the car. The first run I ran way to hard and wore the RF out after about 25 laps. The second run I did okay but still felt slow. What is a good corner speed to maintain to get the optimum performance out of the setup over the long run? It is still a really fast seup though. Thanks.

I don't look after corner speeds, just driving by feeling...I start with 22.9/23.0s most of the time, maybe that helps...

The sets are looking more and more like what is run in Nextel Cup, big front bars, aggressive front rebounds and soft front springs. Only thing missing is the heavy right rear spring. Suspect it might work with a little weight forward, any thoughts on this Volker.

No way...
Stiffer rear springs increase rear downforce (they bump up the back of the car and put the spoiler into the air), but they increase drag as well and reduce mechanical grip which costs more time than you could gain due to increased downforce.

Hello everyone, this is my 1st post here and i must say i am thrilled i found this site. I read about 30 threads yeaterday while at work and when i got home i couldn't wait to download your setups and try them out. Well i must say when i downloaded your Dover setup and tried it out i was everywhere on the track. Sometimes i couldn't even get out of the pit without spinning, very frustating, to say the least. I had to turn on my driving aids to get the car under control. Even with driving aids on I am running 156 - 157's now and i am very pleased. I practiced for about 2 hrs last night and can't wait to get back on the track tonight. I had to bump up the weight to the front by 1 notch and brought the rear sway bar down a couple clicks as well. I was constantly pushing mid/late in the turns and kept winding up tapping the wall. After more practice i am sure i will be able to drive the setup the way you made it without any alterations.
I just wanted to say great setups Volk and keep them coming, I was only running 150-152 with a adjust expert setup and now i can hit high 157's, just awesome! Hopefully i can get into the 158 range by the end of the night! Thanx again.
One other question is i seen in a couple of threads about the black momo, was a proper way to set it up, which i did last night as well, but there were a couple things i couldn't find anything in the profile or game controllers about "deadzone" setting, can someone explain this to me?
