You'll have to define 'huge'. Anything short of 2:00 is probably okay.

SimBrick™

Seriously, there's nothing special to look after, just run your out lap and first timed lap as high as possible to pick up speed, then go for it on your 2nd timed lap, which means stay high on the straights and get as close to the apron as you can in the turns and tri-oval.

Hallo Volker

(Just asked how I can get the car faster because I want the pole position in the next race.
An I asked which time Volker drives with this Setup)

Hey VH,

I had a question pertaining to your gearing for SS tracks. I noticed with you setups for daytona and talladega that you have a pretty tall first gear, gets out of the pits kind of slow. I was just wondering what your reasoning for that was? Is it to tweak your 2nd or restart gear? Thanks

It's for restarts, I usually qualify well on SS so the way off pit road isn't very long and it doesn't matter much whether I get going a little faster or slower. Furthermore I only race SS in leagues, so there is always a number of cautions and green flag stops are rare, hence the focus on restarts rather than on pit stops.

Hi Volker, I have a race tonight at Dega with realistic weather..

As a general rule, how can I tweak the setup along with Temperature changes?

I mean, for every 10ºF add/remove 5% of tape? And how much clicks in diff ratio for every 5% tape removed? 1 click is enough?

One last question: Is it better to change all the Diff Ratio (with that two < > buttons in the lower part of screen) or just the 4th gear?

Thanks

I don't adjust the diff ratio at all the the plate tracks. At higher temperatures, the power peaks at lower revs and the car is slower which makes it top out just about there, and it also works this way in cooler or cloudy weather. The rule of thumb for tape would indeed be 1 click per 10°F.
