Don't worry about the hot laps. Worry about the consistent laps.

Well i have been working with his set and im down to .7's consistantly. I did a 15lap run, after 10 laps it got too loose, but I made some changes to make it looser than vh's. every lap in those 10 laps was a .7.
What do you guys run for about the first 20-25 laps.

21.6 for the first 10 laps, 21.8 after 25 laps.

VH,
I love your set but I can only run 21.9's consistently. Any chance you could post a 5-10 lap replay as you did with Cali? That helped tremendously.

Thanks for the replay, it's really hard to get a feel for a track with a one lap Qual run. As for myself, I have not broke into the 21's yet, but I am consistant 22.3's and 4's
Thanks again

Maybe it was a random breakdown, but during a long green flag run with Volker's race set my engine blew up. I wasn't really paying attention, but the last I looked, my water temp wasn't over 220.
It didn't just cut off, it went up in smoke. Sound like a random breakdown?

I will have to watch your replay but I cannot run your setup with the brake bias way down at 55% without looping the car going into turn 1. I bumped it up to 65% and it was a lot better. I still have to be careful entering turn 1 though because it tends to get loose on entry. Other than that I think the setup is great even though I've only managed a 21.8 as my fastest.

Hmm, for 70°F clear 60% tape oughta be OK, but if it is a little warmer or cloudy, I go down to 55%.

Volker
I love your sets and replays help me alot, but Im having alittle problem w/ Right Front tire temps getting in the 240 range. Is this normal here? Im affraid of burning them up on a 100 lap run.
Thanks Again

I don't look at the RF temperature itself, only at he difference between RF and RR. At the beginning, you'll want the RF to be maybe 2-3°F hotter than the RR. When more and more fuel is burned, the difference grows larger, of course, but I can't tell you any values, after some laps I just let it roll.

Yup, 70 and clear. Like I said, I don't think it was running hot, so it was probably just one of those things. Too bad, too. I was matching the leader's times, and after a bunch of laps, I was reeling him in .1 to .2 a lap. Had a great chance at the win. Great setup

UPDATE
I moved 5 lbs forward in race trim to prevent the car from sliding entering turn 1.

Reduce tape by 10% and set diff ratio to 4.615:1.
I wouldn't loosen the car at all to prevent it from sliding entering turn 1.

I have made alot of changes to volks set and now im able to run .5's in race. Hopefully i can get down to .4's by my race. I will continue to use your sets as a base though.
