20 probably, because that's the point where those f**king hotlapper setups get uncontrollable.

yeah.. those guys will think they have a setup under them which is the DBs for like 15, 20 laps.. then they'll be dirt tracking out of Turn 4.. well, that's a bit complimentary of 1) the game, and 2) their skills, because to be honest I don't think it's possible in this game

maybe they should install a McDonalds on the front stretch near the pit road wall, 'coz I'm sure a lot of these guys will be attempting a drive through

The problem is that drivers losing control coming out of turn 4 usually try to drive through the pit wall, not down the pit road.

yeah I meant them trying to drive through the imaginary McD's on the front stretch, not on pit road

Thanks Volker. The exit off of 4 remained very stable throughout the run, that is why I felt I may have been leaving something on the table. It never twitched. Maybe I wasn't driving quite hard enough off. There wasn't any need to push, I was easily faster than most . I will keep in mind your suggested changes for the future. What is the max tire temp you recommend? My goal with your sets (with exceptions of course) has been to run between 230 and 240. Generally with very good results! Thanks again.

The tire temps depend on the track, there's no general temperature range where you have the best tire wear and grip.

At Darlington and with conditions to 70°F clear, I try to keep the RF temperature (that's the only tire I care about) below 210°F, but 215°F is OK as well if you have to run harder for a certain reason.

Not trying to be a pain but wondering when you'll be posting your replays. You wouldn't believe how much they helped me at Atlanta, especially for tire wear!! I appreciate all the technical tidbits you've been adding to go along with the sets, for example - good race lap times and RF tire temps. I use them as very good guides. Thanks again

Got the pole at Atlanta with your Q set and was running a very strong run in your R set, but ended up in a incedent that put me in 7th at the end.

Thank you for all that you put into your Hobby!

VH,

I'm having a big problem with turns 3 and 4. Car is way loose. I'm very good in turn 1 and 2. I can get into turn 3 very good but in the middle of the turn, the car wants to spin and from that point on its like I'm on ice. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
David

I assume you mean late in a run say from lap 40 on out. I had the same problem but is was b/c I loosened VH's set too much. Is your front bias at 51.0 or so? What changes did you make to VH's original set? The car s/b be "too" tight at the beginning and you cannot push it early or you are toast. Now, it will still get a bit dicey towards the end of a long run in 3 and 4 but you just have to ease on the gas thru and out of T4. Late in the run I could not slam on the gas or even be at 100% in mid of turn 3. Hope this helps.

VH - any other thoughts?

No, it is that loose from the start and it gets worse. I haven't made any changes to the setup.

Please send me a 5 lap replay and I will see what I can do.

Volker, thanks for the replays. Was running similar to that, just need to get consistent in 3 and 4. What are you guys running after 25 laps for times. When have you started hittin' 30's and 31's? Just figuring what kind of tire conservation to shoot for.

I start getting into the 30s after 26 or 27 laps...after running some 29.0s and 29.1s at the beginning. I don't know when I would get into the 31s with that pace because I've never done more than 40 laps starting that fast.
