I'd rather think of a BAR fuel tank, or a Jimmy Johnson traction control, or, most likely, simply a hacked exe.

"Let me Add This Too, Humphy Lowes Owner wishes he left track alone......added more grip or levitation was huge mistake.....there and on this sim....as Im certain most will agree."

Thats not the point... Its has been done and if you are racing for simulations sake then JJ's update is pretty close although now post race it would appear the tire wear could go up a tad. But all in all great job they do over at JJ's.

Its not a question of whats the best its about realism.

BTW.. They are going to repave I believe they said at end of broadcast tonight. They tried to fix they bumps everyone was complaining about and it didnt work out quite well. But Who knows after some wear it could take some of the bite out and be back better than before?

As far as turning off FF ... No way! Gimme all the stimulation in my simulation you can gimme!

Gimme 4 wheels and a V8....

humpy doesnt wish he left the track alone, what he is saying is that he wishes he would have levigated (its levigation NOT levitation the track will not float) and repaved all at one time not a little levigation here and there and wait till next year to repave which is what happened in this situation.
the track will be fine, no reason for more fretting about 2005 lowes racing it WILL be repaved before may 2006.
im sure next week humpy will be purchasing materials to make up the new surface of lowes pavement.

Volker, what common changes do you make to your setup during the race? Tire pressure? wedge? track bar?
And, do you have a guidline to kinda go by for a less than full tank of gas, and any changes you make to the setup with a lighter fuel tank, as the races wind down? Is it ever an advantage to just go ahead and fill the tank up needlessly to not change the handling that you are used too? Thx.

I add wedge if the car is too loose, and track bar if it is to tight, no tire pressure adjustments, they simply don't work in the sim.

What I do to compensate for an empty fuel tank is adding track bar, how much depends on the track. On fast tracks, like 1.5 and 2 mile ovals, you need up to 1.5 clicks of track bar per missing gallon, on tracks like Marty you need no adjustment at all, the other tracks are somewhere in between.

For example at Lowe's, if I have 14 gallons left in the tank and don't take any fuel, it means that 8 gallons are missing, so I add 8 * 1.5 = 12 clicks of track bar.

Thanks for the reply! I'm looking forward to trying the track bar for the less than full fuel tank.

Just a thought for the day!, Toyota SUCKS!!!...and they will never win a darn thing by just throwing money around, so does the car of tomorrow, and while im in a good mood, so does Brian France. If his Great Grand Father was around, he'd kick his A_S !!!.

Question for you Volker...
As we've previously discussed I am aware that we use the same wheel and I know that you don't use FF.
My question is: Which way do you go about disabling FF? Do you A.) turn off the FORCE button on the wheel? (which gives NO resistance) OR do you B.) Turn off FF in the controller setting in the game? (which does give resistance while the wheel button is ON).
I'm just curious which way you preffer to drive.
THX

I switch both FF and the centering force off in the sidewinder software, so it doesn't make a difference if that button on the wheel is "on" or "off", there is no resistance either way.

im not sure what changes you made with this most recent update but this car is a rocketship.
i had a real weather race that ran at 56 temp clear and just 3 clicks up on R.trackbar and that baby rotated around the turns like nobodies buisness.
outstanding V.

I have trouble with Lowe's on any setup. I think it's my lap I just can't seem to get my entry to 1/2 right and I'm loose I the center. Coming off of 2 I don't know where the car wants to go. Then in 3/4 the car is good on entry and through the center. Then I get really tight off of 4, after a few laps.
I know it's my driving that is the problem. If I could get some marker on the track as to where to lift I think that would help a lot.

Volker,
I raced your setup some more last night and got better with the line I was running. I still have trouble with the center of turns 1/2. The oversteers alittle when I get back to the gas. In turn 3/4 the car understeers up off. I run a 40 lap race and knocked my right front fender in off of 4. But, great setup I wasn't even close with my own setup. Your set ups are sometime to loose for my taste but this one was different.
