VH, Thanks for the advice, and you are right I am not getting off the gas like the replay shows. Also I am not able to stay as low as you are in 1&2. So I spent a few hours trying to mimic the line and throttle as in the replay and I either cant do it or have some steering setting wrong. When I try to do it, I either loose the rear of the car, slide up the track in the middle of the corner, or slide down to the white line/apron. All three of these result in disaster and I smashed about 500 cars trying to learn the technique. I can do it once or twice but have been unable to get consistent at it except spinning out or smacking the wall.

So after that frustration I decided to go back to my current method of jumping off to about 1/4 throttle. Since I could not run as low a line in turns 1 & 2, I reduced the FSB, and RF spring by one click. I was able to get into 1 & 2 better and seemed able to run more 29.1 laps. I dont have any long runs on this so not sure how my tire wear is.

Ever since 2003 came out I have bee consistently a half a second slower than the fast times I see on the boards and in replays, so maybe 29.1s are the best I am going to hit?

I bought the TSW2 to be able to turn off steering assist and hoped to close the gap on my half second handicap. I have steering assist off now, but just have not picked up the time......yet. Just for a test I kicked SA back on to 30%, I ran a few fast laps but then quickly started running increasingly slower. That maybe due to not liking SA taking the "feel" of the car away. So SA is back off to stay and I will just do the best I can.

Anyway its a great set and I will keep trying to get better.

thanks

Hey Cobra, try setting your linearity somewhere between 90%-100%. Mine is at 100% and I think VH's is too. Maybe this will help you a bit. It will take you a few laps to get accustomed to it, but I think you'll notice it's easier to drive once you do.
Thanks,

Thanks, I have been playing with the linearity and think I am at 60% right now. When I try 90 - 100% the car is so twitchy and react so fast I cant control it. Before I got the USB upgrade on the TSW2 I was able to run 100% linearity but I have not been able to since I got it back with the USB adapter installed

i love this set vh. i run really well with it.but i still get beat alot by what i think is cheaters.i used to win about every tme i got on yhe track with it .but here lately some guys (i ll not mention no names)seem like they hit nitrous or something with about 10 or 15 to go i.i stay right with them till the end then all the sudden they get 2or 3 tenths quicker.while i m still runnin the same times.do u know anything about a cheat or are they just savin there stuff till the end ?2 or 3 tenths seems a little much.

gear and tape. peel off 5% and go with a slightly shorter gear. If the car feels a bit tight either up both sides of the TB one click OR move weigh back 1 click.

VH - sound about right?

One more thing...Pocono, Pocono, Pocono...

Removing 5% of tape is enough, I wouldn't touch the gears.

Well, that's my preferred strategy as well...
I draft with the field and save tires till 15 or 20 laps to go and then I suddenly start pushing it in order to pull away...2 or 3 tenths aren't unusual I think.

Volker

Our team has been using your setups in our league most all year now. Super job. What would you recomend the tweaks to be for this setup for the following weather:

Temp: 86 Degrees

Wind: South @ 3 mh

Conditions: Clear

Thanks.

Race trim:
Reduce tape by 2 clicks, increase diff ratio by 1 and move 5 lbs back.

Qual trim:
Use the 70°F clear setup.

Thanks volker. We will give that a test. Just to let you know how well your setups have worked for us in one leage at Cali 3 of the 4 of us finished top 5 including first spot out of 18 drivers. Another league another team member has won 2 races in a row. Your setups are spot on for us with the odd minor tweak for driving style. Good show!!

Yes, I'm going to use it in qual, but I still have to check if it works in race trim as well.

I took a tweeked version of the Lowes set and ran a 5 & -2 caster test. Seemed to be more stable for me and temps seemed great on the run. It was not a long run mind you but tried to keep at a 182 - 183 mph pace. Our league runs mph instead of time. Can't wait to try yours. I have a TSW2 and have to tweek due to fast throttle and steering response with my wheel but always can get your sets to run. Thanks again

UPDATE
I changed caster to +6/-2 in qual trim.
It doesn't make the car faster imo, but it prevents it from snapping loose. I also tried those caster settings in race trim, but they make the car too tight when the right sides have turned yellow.
