Re: Pocono Setup - 06-09-2004, 08:49 AM

Thanks for your work. Relatively new to Nascar 2003 so my feedback is more about gratitude then constructive in the way of technical feedback. I've tried other Pocono setups and yours is the most stable (no overheating) and neither too tight or loose which is amazing given how Pocono was designed. The only thing I am not too sure about is the gear ratio. I ran some laps and compared the laps using the Racing Analyzer program with the AI. Comparing the RPM's profiles, I must be lifting too early. The confusing part is that I am achieving the same max speeds on the straight-aways...which I think is because of drafting. Not sure because I am new to the sim. For now, I am going to assume that if I work on the lifting I should be able to become more competitive as it seems if I miss a mark, I can't catch up.

Thank you guys for your response. I had a Pocono Race this weekend and there were some drivers using FRONT TOE OUT -200 !! I tried it and i was able to drive that.

Can you check out this strange thing?

I tried it this morning,,and I could drive it no problem, too bad I raced last night
Noticed not much difference in tire wear,,and could turn a little better thru the corners
keep up the great work Ulli

I ran the V1 last night. Very stable. Only thing I noticed was LR tire seemed to heat up for some reason. What was odd is it's temperature would rise on the straights. Didn't try the -200 toe out though. Thanks for posting the setup UK,
I sure can use all the help I can get....LOL.

I had a New Hampshire setup with that strange -200 toe and it drove like a dream. Defies logic.

Thanks for the V2, it is fast, I have tested it and have added 2mph to my best lap time. I Will proably get faster the more I drive it. Tested with 84 degrees with wind at NW 8, which was taken from the weather channel for july 20,2005 wednesday at long pond, pa for this weeks league race temps.

Yes thanks for the sets, I used your qualify set and outran the field by 3/10ths of a second. Led the most laps and only a mistake on pit road by me cost me the win. I had to take a little r/f camber out but that's about it.

i love ur pocono set, but in turn 1 it seems tight from teh middle and off the corner. i guess its b/c i use pocono 05. in cloudy weather i can run a in the high 52's while teh ai run a second faster. my tire temps skyrocket fairly quickly. any ideas on how to fix the car? thx!

It doesn't 'defy logic', lol, toe-in or negative toe is almost always used on flat surfaces with heavy braking like road courses or short tracks with tight, flat corners while toe-out or positive toe is the norm on tracks with very fast, sweeping corners or high banked turns, in real life.
