Corner entry help CUP & CTS - 05-06-2005, 04:30 AM

Hi all
On tracks such as Las Vagas, Mich - the 1.5 -2 mile "Downforce tracks" and a few others I am having a lot of trouble getting the nose of the car to "set" in the early stages of corner entry. I have as much tape as possible. I have like a 4 for RF shock 1.1 ft sway bar. any less and the car comes around if I have to lift at all sooner than i should.
Any clues???

thx

Looks like you just enter the turns too fast or the car is too tight or it doesn't produce enough grip in general. Knowing your tape and FSB settings doesn't help me at all (and the shock setting even less because I don't know if it's the bump or rebound setting), I'd need the whole setup to get an idea of what might be wrong (for example, the car will always be tight in if you run 52% of front weight, no matter what the other settings are like).

You can try to negative rf camber, and use the typical 6/-2 VH Invented Caster setting to get some turn in without making the car extremely loose. How I build my setups are brakes, I use a ton of brakes at Michigan, Texas, Atlanta, and Vegas to get in and through the middle of the corner. Try raising your LF rebound.

PWF setups are the first setup I saw 6/0 caster settings....very close to Volkers 6/-2(out of this world) setting. Negitive caster would rip the front end of your car to bits and pieces.

You might try going the other way with your caster, say 2/4.The more split in the caster, the more the car will want to cut into turns. Needless to say this setting may not work if your setup is built around a "reverse" caster setting.

Will the above link work with NASCAR Sim Racing? I need all the help that I can get. The main thing that I want is to under stand what i'm doing, not just load someone elses set and race. Thanks Gasman
