Hi There Gary!

Long time no see! I'm getting back to sim racing because of the TA mod too.Have you seen Eric Cote lately? Would be great if we could get the old SRM gang together with TA cars!

Achim, I like your site! Great to find good TA lap replays/setups to use as benchmark!

Greger , about time you posted some of those slippery setups for TA too!

Hey Kari,
I tried to call Eric a couple of times and he was "not here now" according to someone who I think was his Father. That was some time ago though. I never did find out what happened to him.
Achim's setups and replays are giving me something to get started with. I am new at N2K3 but having some fun. Sierra servers can be a bit wild!

Hey Achim

Some feedback from a road-course backmarker

I find the setups generally a bit quicker than the few "expert" setups that are available for trans-am. Two things that I've done to make them slightly easier (and a bit quicker) for me are:

- increased steering ratio by one or two clicks seems to solve - or mask - the "twitchiness" for me

- generally, on all your setups I have needed to shorten the gears to improve my speeds. I guess it's because I don't carry as much speed through the corners so depend on shorter gears to get max accelleration.

Otherwise, thanks very much. Great help!

Hi Hubert,

thanks for the feedback!

The steering ratio seems to depend on the controller as well, i.e. wheel or joystick, and which wheel.

The gearing is usually set up to give me the rpms I need at specific track locations. If someone's slower or faster at that track location, my gears don't work well for him.

AchimT, Thanks for the TransAm sets. I noticed you have a set for Norisring, but can't find the track anywhere. Have found the GPL version at http://www.cruisekids.com/gpl/norisring/norisrng.html. Is that the track you loaded and run with NR2003? Thanks, Buck

Hi Buck,

I didn't want to announce things before they were ready, and the fact that that setup had sneaked onto my website was a regrettable error. During all the beta testing and setup creating I was doing at that time, I uploaded it by mistake. Apologies for that.

The track is Lou Magyar's creation, who generously gave permission to convert his wonderful track to N2k3. Thank you Lou!

The track was converted by Mr. Track Conversion himself Dave Noonan.

Thanks to two impressive artists, Lou and Dave, we'll be seeing this great track soon at The US Pits (in the next weeks). And I tell you, it's a blast for online racing!

Hmmm, where can I download all those road tracks?
I have downloaded and played the Trans-Am mod for some time now, but could not find any of those tracks you have made the setups for.

Just a quick line to say your setup are awesome, found some of your GPL setups for the Lotus and enjoyed them, i find i need to drop the steering ration on some of them, this helps me keep it in the right direction!! The first time i ran noe of your setups in a TA league , came 2nd after coming last in all previous races, keep up the good work

Thanks for the feedback!

The steering ratio seems to depend on the controller someone uses, on the travel the controller offers and how the electronics translate the pot travel.

Hi guys!I've been a fan of your setups for a while now....However,I run in a fixed league that runs the fast setup,so I don't get much chances to use them..
About a year ago, we at =FSB=(fsbracing.com) started aRoad Racing Series and this season we've switched to Trans-Ams.It's been named after my dad ,the late Milt Minter,a former factory Porsche driver and Trans-Am competitor in the 60's,70's,and 80's...We'd like to run Lemans 2004 in our series but there are no setups for the day and night tracks...Could you help us?Would be greatly appreciated!!!!Thx.Milt Minter Jr(=FSB=Monster)

I'll try my best.

You need a setup for the LeMans day/night track for PTA (T-Am), is that right? Not for GTP?

Please let me know for what date you need the setup, and where I can download the night version of the track.
