HELP- My Vista Ultimate will not allow N2K3 to work - 07-21-2008, 05:38 PM

I get through the set up of the car, then when I hit drive it stops the program... I have changed the icon properties to all available options, XP, ME, and nothing seems to work. Please help.. I am trying to get back into the game, I have all of the papyrus series, but had left due to life responsibilities, but now have time to start getting back on the track.. Any help greatly appreciated. Please be very specific with any instructions if I have to go into the CMD command, I am not that computer savey..

Thanks for the forums help.
Cheers
ShadowRydr.

The first thing I would try is switching the sound off in the options (completely uncheck it, instead of turning it to 0%), to encircle the problem.

Did you do a fresh install or did you after installing overwrite files with ones that you have backed up. I had the same problem with my vista I overwrote some files with existing data that I had. one was as Volker mentioned sound. Other was with Graphics. I went into the options and hit the restore to defaults tab., backed out of the game and reconfigured the graphics.
