You're welcome.

I have AAMOF uploaded new setups for all tracks now, October 8-9.

I've made several of them easier to drive, mainly by tweaking the balance. Some of them now use the balance I prefer, others have a somewhat less aggressive car balance.

Two questions: Is the Silverstone setup for the Coverter track or is it the new PWF Beta version? Will the setup work for either track?

Thanks for posting your setups, I can't wait to get home and try them out!

I use the same setup for both tracks.

BTW, since we're talking anyway, you may want to reduce the rear sway bar one notch to 925 on both tracks, or even try a 1000f/850r Sway bar settings, if you find the setup too twitchy.

It's actually a remarkable feat to not see the links to my site which are spread across this board like dirt on a Nascar's windscreen :D

It's actually a remarkable feat to not see the links to my site which are spread across this board like dirt on a Nascar's windscreen :DI was about 5 minutes new to the board and got too excited about all the TA setups to actually explore :D
But I did find it and bookmarked it imediately... thanx :)

Tell me how you like the setups if you have time, and keep looking for new setups at the moment, as currently I'm updating them frequently (not all of them, but some, as I'm doing more testing).

I'll as of Monday start announcing new versions of setups here either in my forum, or in the What's New forum (I forgot to do that so far).

Achim,
Having been away for awhile I was amazed at what has been going on with N2K3. I see lots of names I remember from my GPL days. Bobo88 got me all setup with the TA cars last night. This morning I downloaded your setups. Thank you. Now off to do some practicing.

Hi Gary,

thanks for letting me know! I'm sure you'll have fun with the T-Ams. They're really what GPL2 could have been right now. Especially when they get the car models from Project Wildfire.

Tell me how you like my setups, and keep checking for new ones.

I would really like to try your sets at 100%, Mr. Trenz. Sometimes dumbing them down is good but, I would really like to at least be able to try your sets as YOU Race them.

Achim,
I like your setups. I made only a slight brake bias change and they seem to suit me just fine. I like the cars to be a bit twitchy as I steer with wheel, brake and throttle like in GPL.
Mario Andretti once said, "It is amazing the number of people who think the brakes are only for stopping."

Hi Gary, haven't seen you around for a while. Are you still hosting races? :)

Greger,
I am still Hosting. Have backed away a bit from GPL but have been active in some of the other Mods. Just getting started with the TA mod.
Good to hear from you.

Catfish, not all of them have been made a little easier, and dumbed down isn't the right word either. The modded ones are just as fast as mine, they're just a tad easier to drive but a little harder on the front tires.

Mainly, if you want to drive like I do, reduce the Caster to 2.50 at all tracks, and change the Sway bar settings to 875/900 for most tracks. Whenever the rear Sway bar is already stiffer than the front, leave it there, as that's probably what I'm using anyway.

I'm glad you like them Gary. Using throttle and brake like we do isn't always faster, but it sure is more fun, isn't it :)

Achim,
Bobo88 and I were doing some Server testing awhile ago. I Hosted Roadone and several joined. When the Race was ready to start they all left. They should have stayed, they could have easily beaten me :)

Schubi, of course I remember you. I remember all of the work you did in the races I used to Host. Are you still racing?

Guys, I have changed ISP's and of course have a new e-mail addy: Great ISP! Hosts 20 GPL cars with no problem. Have a couple of new systems also including a P4 3.2 with all the latest stuff. Just now testing with N2K3 but seems to be okay.

Hi There Gary!

Long time no see! I'm getting back to sim racing because of the TA mod too.Have you seen Eric Cote lately? Would be great if we could get the old SRM gang together with TA cars! :)

Achim, I like your site! Great to find good TA lap replays/setups to use as benchmark! :2thumbs:

Greger , about time you posted some of those slippery :alien: setups for TA too!
;)

Hey Kari,
I tried to call Eric a couple of times and he was "not here now" according to someone who I think was his Father. That was some time ago though. I never did find out what happened to him.
Achim's setups and replays are giving me something to get started with. I am new at N2K3 but having some fun. Sierra servers can be a bit wild!

Hey Achim :)

Some feedback from a road-course backmarker ;)

I find the setups generally a bit quicker than the few "expert" setups that are available for trans-am. Two things that I've done to make them slightly easier (and a bit quicker) for me are:

- increased steering ratio by one or two clicks seems to solve - or mask - the "twitchiness" for me

- generally, on all your setups I have needed to shorten the gears to improve my speeds. I guess it's because I don't carry as much speed through the corners so depend on shorter gears to get max accelleration.

Otherwise, thanks very much. Great help!

Achim Trensz

Hi Hubert,

thanks for the feedback!

The steering ratio seems to depend on the controller as well, i.e. wheel or joystick, and which wheel.

The gearing is usually set up to give me the rpms I need at specific track locations. If someone's slower or faster at that track location, my gears don't work well for him.

AchimT, Thanks for the TransAm sets. I noticed you have a set for Norisring, but can't find the track anywhere. Have found the GPL version at http://www.cruisekids.com/gpl/norisring/norisrng.html. Is that the track you loaded and run with NR2003? Thanks, Buck

Hi Buck,

I didn't want to announce things before they were ready, and the fact that that setup had sneaked onto my website was a regrettable error. During all the beta testing and setup creating I was doing at that time, I uploaded it by mistake. Apologies for that.

The track is Lou Magyar's creation, who generously gave permission to convert his wonderful track to N2k3. Thank you Lou!

The track was converted by Mr. Track Conversion himself Dave Noonan.

Thanks to two impressive artists, Lou and Dave, we'll be seeing this great track soon at The US Pits (in the next weeks). And I tell you, it's a blast for online racing!

Hmmm, where can I download all those road tracks?
I have downloaded and played the Trans-Am mod for some time now, but could not find any of those tracks you have made the setups for.

Just a quick line to say your setup are awesome, found some of your GPL setups for the Lotus and enjoyed them, i find i need to drop the steering ration on some of them, this helps me keep it in the right direction!! The first time i ran noe of your setups in a TA league , came 2nd after coming last in all previous races, keep up the good work :aplause:

Achim Trensz

Thanks for the feedback!

The steering ratio seems to depend on the controller someone uses, on the travel the controller offers and how the electronics translate the pot travel.

Hi guys!I've been a fan of your setups for a while now....However,I run in a fixed league that runs the fast setup,so I don't get much chances to use them..
About a year ago, we at =FSB=(fsbracing.com) started aRoad Racing Series and this season we've switched to Trans-Ams.It's been named after my dad ,the late Milt Minter,a former factory Porsche driver and Trans-Am competitor in the 60's,70's,and 80's...We'd like to run Lemans 2004 in our series but there are no setups for the day and night tracks...Could you help us?Would be greatly appreciated!!!!Thx.Milt Minter Jr(=FSB=Monster)

Achim Trensz

I'll try my best.

You need a setup for the LeMans day/night track for PTA (T-Am), is that right? Not for GTP?

Please let me know for what date you need the setup, and where I can download the night version of the track.

=FSB=Monster
06-19-2005, 11:27 PM
Hey thx. Achim!Setups for TA mod.but the night version might be hard to find....One of our members sent the 2 tracks on a disk;said he downloaded it from a French website-but he can't remember it,lol. The Night version has a fast setup that can be imported to the Day version but I don't have enough seat time to know if it's any good-only able to turn 128mph laps...Maybe someone can help...Thx Sir..Milt:twisted:

Howdy from California!Hey Achim,You can dl the 2004 day version @Raceservers.com nut I haven't been able to find the night version,yet!Thx..

Achim Trensz
06-21-2005, 11:33 AM
I think I have the day version. So, I'll create a setup for the day version. Maybe the night version isn't even that different. Until when do you need the setup at the latest?

=FSB=Monster
06-21-2005, 09:43 PM
Fabulous! Our Road Rage Season starts July 5th but we won't be running Lemans for a few weeks after...So the 5th would be fine....Also if you or any other interested Road Racing driver would like to run with us on Tuesdays,we could use some more TA drivers! We also run Cup!Fixed setups but we have good clean fun racing and some serious competition@www.fsbracing.com....Thx for your time!

You know, today I had a quick look at the PTA setups at my website, and guess what I found there - a TA Le Mans setup. Have you never looked there? :)

Anyway, those setups were quite geared to being fast. Download it and try it. I made you another one though which should be more driveable. No need to make it fast and sacrifice driveability when all of you are using the same setup.

=FSB=Monster
06-22-2005, 10:51 PM
Thank you Achim! Can't wait to try it out!I appreciate you getting back to me so fast! And I agree with your take on it-should be perfect for our league...I post back on what I think of it...Thx again..Milt Minter:twisted:

Hey Achim!I like the setup you gave me!I especially like the gearing-smooth and even going thru the gears on the Mulsanne and no wheel spin coming out of the slow corners!Should be great for our league!Thx again-Milt:twisted:
