It doesn't 'defy logic', lol, toe-in or negative toe is almost always used on flat surfaces with heavy braking like road courses or short tracks with tight, flat corners while toe-out or positive toe is the norm on tracks with very fast, sweeping corners or high banked turns, in real life.
