Very unfair treatment from overlord admins!! Ouch!! - 01-09-2005, 02:37 PM

A word of caution about a league named Breakaway Racing or BRL. I have been the victem of a very harsh and unfair treatment and banning for something I didn't do. I know, your saying to yourself, "Ya right, ya had to have done something". I was given the classic dive-low-slide-up wreck treatment by a over-aggressive driver and taken out of a race. My teamate private messages me to file a protest. I respond "f*k that, I don't do protest", my excact words. The admins, who were present at the time, said nothing to me. After the race the wrecker was bugging me to talk about it and told him I didn't want to discuss it cuz I was mad. He kept bugging me so I typed into the shout box "**** you" Four asterisks and "you". All without evidence, witnesses, or inqueries they fined me 25 champ points and suspended me 3 races for the charge of flaming. All other valid flamming charges from that year were given a written warning first and a $20,000 fine for the second offence. For my alleged first offence they took all hopes of winning the championship and ruined a part of our teams reunion weekend. I was in second place in the standings with 4 races left at the time of the incident. I fly down to Atlanta every year to meet with my online team and go to the fall race at Atlanta. I also run a league race from my buddy's 3 monitor setup and Racers edge full cockpit. Not just a race at someone elses house, a whole different experience. They held their trial and passed down their sentence 2 days before I fly out to Georgia. Why did they pick me? Don't know. The person I allegedly flammed didn't even think so and told the admins his feelings. One of our oldest rights we adopted from Britian is the right to face your accuser. Of course I was upset and wrote one admin a nasty email, one and only one. When I get home after the Atlanta race, (Jr got wrecked and boy was I mad! lol) I find myself banned from their website and teamspeak server. My IP is banned from their website and they cancell my email account. What the F??? [...] Obviously they answer to no-one and everything that they do is "divine intervention". After 2 1/2 years there and I was even a member of the staff with my oun column on the site. I was given no notice of banning from the league or clue why. They basicly crucified one of their oun to springboard their anti-flamming crusade. They made up a charge, handed down an outragous sentence, and then banned me when I got mad about it. I have sent many emails demanding a reason for their actions and an apology to no avail. It's not like I want to race there again but they cut me off from my good friends I talked to EVERY DAY! Some that I have met in person. All for what? They just hide from that question behind their banning wall. This kind of admin process gives the online racing world a big black eye. [...] I hope to forever have this warning to all who may be thinking of racing there. There ought to be a law!

Don't you think there might be a slight difference between the Nazi war crime and a ban from an online league? - VH

Just move on man, if you feel you were done unfairly handle it with the procedures they have setup, not by cursing. -NM
